What is Antiquing

In the world of jewelry, antiquing is a process whereby metal objects are chemically treated so that they take on a color or patina associated with age. Silver and copper will gradually turn black upon immersion in a solution of liver of sulfur (potassium sulphide). Gold may be darkened by plating in a “black Chrome” solution.
